Galactic Breaking News Dark Voice Senior Correspondant Dismal Visutor Core Worlds - The Dark Voice has monitored the transmissions of it's counterparts in the Core Systems, and brought you some of the items making news Galaxy Wide. Coruscant Falls Coruscant, the capital of the galaxy for thousands of years, has fallen to the monstrosities known to us as the “Yuuzhan Vong.” Most of the galaxy at large considered the planet-wide city to be invincible, and that the New Republic would be a stable government for a long time to come. Not much else is known about the conquering of the ‘Galactic City’, other than the fact that the invaders have christened their prize Yuuzhan’tar. Republic Chief of State Killed The Chief of State of the New Republic, a Bothan named Borsk Fey’lya, has been reported and confirmed as dead. During the invasion of Coruscant, rumors report that an explosion destroyed a vast majority of the Imperial Palace, Fey’lya apparently located inside of the building. Gossip, originating from an unknown source, reveals that the Bothan had experienced an epiphany at a hearing of the New Republic Senate, and appeared slightly depressed. Cal Omas Replaces Fel'lya After the reported death of Borsk Fey’lya, the New Republic was in dire need of a new leader. Two people were nominated by the Senate – Cal Omas of Alderaan and Fyor Rodan of Commenor. The two had different views about how to end the Yuuzhan Vong war. Rodan had led the board in Senator votes for the initial voting. After gaining numerous endorsements, such as Cola Quis and Ta’laam Ranth, the last round of voting resulted in Omas’s favor. Cal Omas was elected Chief of State with 85% of the votes. Bothans Declare Ar'kai For the first time in millennia, the Bothans at Bothawui have declared ar’kai, a genocidal war, upon the Yuuzhan Vong. The death of Chief of State Borsk Fey’lya sparked an intense hatred of the Yuuzhan Vong from the Bothans. During a state of ar’kai, all Bothans, fit or otherwise, were required to volunteer for military service. Ar’kai is only declared when an enemy threatened the Bothan people with extinction. During ar’kai, an enemy was to be repaid in kind. The enemy is to be destroyed to the last individual, their name is to be wiped from history, and their homeworld ground to dust. Only time will reveal the outcome of this total war. New Republic Re-organizes Rumors have surfaced that the new Chief of State of the New Republic, Cal Omas, has begun a grand re-organizing of the New Republic into what is being coined the "Galactic Federation of Free Alliances". As of the time of publication, we have been unable to confirm the details, however, we will bring you more on this immense change as it becomes available.

	Rise of the YVH Vong Hunter Droid, 27 ABY; Droids prove Their Mettle Dark Voice Correspondent Mononoke "Macron" Keibatsu Sadow DB Holonet, Antei - Events at large in the galaxy are taking a predictable turn, given the nature of the threats to the galaxy at large from the detestable Yuuzhan Vong. The Tendrando Arms Corporation under the guidance of Lando Calrissian has developed a new droid designed to combat the invaders. Designated the “YVH-1”, or “Yuuzhan Vong Hunter One”, the droid promises to be an effective weapon. Scattered intelligence reports mention aquatic, vacuum, and other variants in use. The droid serves admirably in the War, and was spotted during the recent Fall of Coruscant. Apparently, a few of the droids were able to kill the Vong they encountered quite effectively. Initial tests against the filthy grey-skinned aliens show that the droids are effective. They taunt the Vong in their own barbaric language, saying things like "We are machines! We are greater than the Yuuzhan Vong!" These insults are most effective at enraging the invaders and causing them to make mistakes. They also appear physically somewhat like a skeletal Vong, adding an eerie effect to their interaction with them in combat. The droid unit is powerful on it’s own, sporting a variety of toys for the enthusiastic butcher. The carry a blaster analog in one arm, and can wield many other items such as an electro-ray discharger, thermal detonators, sonic rifles, coma gas, and mini-rockets. The sensor suite is superb, offing fine detail resolution and a search and find patterning that can detect Vong with ooglith masquers. It would seem that Lando Carlissian’s boasts that the droids are superior warriors than the Vong may be true. My own combat test aginst one was challenging, and the rate of fire from the blaster is high. The do not crush easily, and continue to keep fighting long after a living being would have passed out from shock. They are immune to poison, lack of oxygen, blood loss from severed limbs, and need no sleep. Truly, these are the stuff Vong nightmares are made of. Rumor has it that the Dark Summit is in negotiations to purchase some of these units for the Brotherhood. Stay tuned to the Dark Voice for more details.

	Vong Invasion on Other Fronts; New Republic Dark Voice Correspondent Melkor It the chaos of the Brotherhoods’ efforts with the Vong, refreshing news leaked out from New Republic. According to leaks in their Intelligence some ground was gained over the Yuuzhan Vong with the loss of their world ship at a cost of the striped out super star destroyer Lusankya. The Rebublic has tried on several instances to retake Borleias in the Pyria System and took heavy losses in multiple skirmishes against the Yuuzhan Vong that held the system as well as defending off two other attempts to retake the system. This world was one of the staging points for the strikes on Coruscant from the Vong fleet costing the Republic a great many pilots in ship-to-ship engagements.The vessel was the sister ship the Executor. It had come into new republic possession some years earlier after once being used as a private prison for Imperial Intelligence Chief Ysanne Isard, when it was buried under Coruscant shortly after its construction. After Isard's death, the vessel was adopted into New Republic service and served for nearly two decades, and at times used as medical research facility due to it being designed with quarantine containment areas on board her. As well being a major piece in multiple battles over the course of her service as well as this final engagement. The report stated the vessel was liberated of its armament and rearmed with massive amounts of explosives in the vessels prow to create what was intended to be a explosives enhanced battering ram and on top of its redone armor making it far better than vessels of her class in Imperial service, and after the weapons that were aboard were refitted onto various other New Republic ships in their fleet such as the Errant Venture. It was one of the largest and most heavily hit vessels that was involved in the Republics’ stand on the Pyria system, and it was to be used in a in a final suicide mission supposedly code-named "Operation Emperor's Spear”. Eldo Davip a New Republic Commander piloted the massive nineteen kilometer vessel that was rigged with slave circuits and escorted but several squadrons of elite pilots guarding her as she prepared to collide into the Yuuzhan Vong worldship before abandoning the vessel to see both vessels destroyed as the New Republic fleet withdrew in the devastation of the two massive vessels. The battle mainly served to by time for the civilians and scientists to be evacuated from Borleias, and as well buy time for the refugees from Coruscant to escape giving the Rebublic the chance to recover from the loss of its capital world.
