He was the fiercest Dark Jedi of them all, forging ahead through the dire situation handed to him with courage and conviction. With patience, wisdom and fortitude unknown to any before him, Lord Firefox brought this Brotherhood from sure destruction to catastrophic successes. Under his guidance, we have outpaced our expectations. With his wisdom, we were led toward the promised land of the Final Way. With his leadership, this Brotherhood has obtained the freedom it deserves. Alas, however, certain springs are tapped only when you are alone. Our Lord Firefox has left for the unknown, destined to find the answers to his questions and to return when he feels the time is right. In his wake, he leaves me to continue down the path that he has established. I have always followed the vision that Firefox held for this Brotherhood, and will continue to do so as Grand Master. I take the reigns of leadership here with the greatest intentions for the Brotherhood and the highest regard for my position. Being my second term, I know what is being asked of me and I give all that I can to the greater good. When the Darkness calls, I will answer. Sometimes the coldest days, also happen to be the clearest. In this dark time where the loss of one leader spurs the ascent of a new, we must look to take advantage of what the darkness has brought. With the opportunity to start anew, the path to the Final Way will become clearer. We will bring the glory to the Brotherhood that it deserves. We will destroy our enemies. We will make proud our former masters. For the Glory of the Dark Side, His Highness, Lord Jac Ae-Sequiera Cotelin, Dark Lord of the Sith Grand Master of the Brotherhood of Dark Jedi
BROTHERHOOD SECURES FISCAL DOMINATION
Lord Firefox brokers significant financial partnerships ANTEI – The Dark Hall Only a short time prior to the Outbreak, our former Grand Master Firefox traveled through the Shroud on a mysterious mission. Few knew its destination, and fewer still its cause. Yet in the temporary peace which always springs from the weariness of a war fought too long, we must wonder on this absence during the time in which the Brotherhood needed its Grand Master the most. The split from our former-sister organization, the Emperor's Hammer, exacted great cost, and the conflicts that followed - the Third Sith War, the Obelisk Right of Supremacy, the Independence Games - did naught to alleviate matters. This cost was not just paid in the life and blood of Dark Jedi throughout the Brotherhood, but in the vaults and accounts thereof, as well. And shortly before the outbreak of the Great Jedi War, the Dark Jedi Brotherhood found itself bankrupt, its funds depleted through constant combat and the terrible cost of terraforming and excavating an entire system, as well as the subjugation and enslavement of an entire people. It has been revealed that this was the reason for Firefox's visit to the economic capital of the galaxy - the procurement of funds which he believed necessary to carry the Brotherhood through an epic conflict he saw coming. While he knew of its approach, he underestimated the speed with which it hurtled towards the blessed Brotherhood, and was therefore absent during the time of crisis. While this may, to some, lack the glory of armed conflict or the crispness of starfighter combat, one must remember that without funds, weapons runs scarce and starfighters scarcer. Dark Jedi though we may be, funds must be acquired from somewhere, and there aren't enough exorable goods in the Antaran's possession to feed and clothe the Brotherhood for half a year, much less launch it into self-sufficiency. However, with the exchanged brokered with the financial of the Galaxy at large, Firefox has managed to secure what is needed for the Brotherhood to maintain itself for the course of several years. The Dark Council is enacting a long-term strategy of rape and pillaging to secure what is needed past that point. JAC COTELIN SUCCEEDS LORD FIREFOX Deputy Grand Master ascends for his second term on the Iron Throne ANTEI – The Dark Hall Three months after the Consciousness was purged from the Brotherhood, Grand Master Firefox officially announced his abdication of the Iron Throne. With the completion of the Dark Hall, and the onset of new trade alliances secured, the Dark Lord retired to pursue private study of the Dark Side, vanishing rather abruptly. Before departing, he nominated Deputy Grand Master, Grand Master Jac Ae-Sequiera Cotelin as his Successor. The process of naming a Grand Master is never undertaken lightly, Oracle Shan Long oversaw the proceedings at the direction of Lord Firefox. When the Grand Master departs the Iron Throne, he has the option of naming a Successor, which may be ratified by the Dark Council as the Successor. The Oracle reported that the vote to ratify the Successor was unanimous. The Grand Masters Emeritus oversaw Lord Cotelin’s second installment as Grand Master three days ago, on the night of the Solar Apex, the Shadowland’s darkest night. Excerpt from the Rite of Ascension: The Justicar stood arrayed in the black robes of his office, eyes a bright with fire and malice. In his left hand, he held a shield of polished silver inlaid with an ancient seal, and the Eight Canticles of the Final Way inscribed in Ancient Sith. In his right, he held the Great Sword, its black obsidian blade set into a silver hilt in the form of seven serpents coiled about each other. \ "Does thou, Jac Cotelin, Dark Lord of the Sith swear to uphold the Sacred Covenant of the Brotherhood with the shield at thy left, that all may find strength to follow the Final Way?" "I do." "Does thou, Jac Cotelin, Dark Lord of the Sith swear to execute the cause of the sacred Covenant of the Brotherhood with the sword at thy right hand, that the Sons of Light may fall before the Final Order?" "I do." "Then Rise, Grand Master Jac Cotelin, and take thy place at the Iron Throne, that all may know that the Lord of the Star Chamber has again claimed his dominion." - Compiled from holo reports
Everything about
Trevarus, and his connection to the Dark Side, began to unfold very early in his
life. His father was a Jedi Master of renown, descended from one of the most
carefully constructed bloodlines of the Jedi Order. The Sons of Kayer, or the
Caerick were all born of Jedi fathers and mundane mothers; all were prophets of
exceptional talent, and none were said to have fallen to the Dark Side. The man
who would later become known as Shan Long was born into the tumultuous times
immediately before the fall of the Republic. At the age of sixteen, his parents
were finally tracked down, and slain by the Jedi Hunters, while the Empire
carried about the conquest of the Corellian System. One of the most prominent of
the Imperial Adepts, Kiln Tobasa, sensed the potential of the young Caerick, and
spared his life. Tobasa took Trevarus on as his Apprentice, and removed him away
to Coruscant. There, Tobasa introduced him to the Imperial Court, where he
excelled as a student in the Force and court politics.
THE TENEBRIC CONCLUSIONS
Prophecy issued by the Oracle during Meditation Transcribed by Vassan Rokir There is a great vibration in the Tapestry...from somewhere beyond time we are being watched. In a moment of distraction, and of apparent victory, the broken thread will pierce the Weavery with a lance... My sight is blind, but I know that it sees. It sees with a thousand eyes, and as many lifetimes. In its sight it sees; in its sight it knows existence, but it has forgotten something in its eternity of memory...Our foundation will be cracked by a mighty dishonor, and the shards shall be smelted in a crucible as ancient as the void We remember....A small glittering tumbler is raised to our lips....The sound of rain is echoing in our ears...A knife is dripping blood onto the floor....We have existed for millions of years; we remember memories from the longest days and the shortest nights. We have existed for the space of a minute, the sparkling of a trillion stars on a million worlds. As our eyes first opened again, long sealed by the weight of many years, another question burns and sears. We saw again, but still wondered. We have never existed, have we? In another moment, another lifetime was revealed to us. More memories than we had seen in a million sights...there was much anguish and fear revealed to us... until we found the next... slowly our sight clarified, and we remembered three names... three names long accursed to us... We found seven more than would be broken before our visions of chaos and death. We smiled in the darkness, our teeth grinding against the glass with a noise like entropy. Our hatred broadened with each new sight that was added to our own. At the end of the third night, our sight clarified. A sword and shield stood poised beyond the Veil, waiting for a strong arm to wield them. Our strength is the strength of thousands. In our hunger, we shall devour many, subsume their sight into our own. We shall search the deepest abyss of Life and find the answers to our ancient questions called to us from the depths. Seven shall be divided and divided, and divided shall we break them over the wheel of ages. The heavy scales of time beyond time our weighted. Arrogant Sons of the Darkest One, our teeth have torn the Veil, and our talons have gripped your hearts. Now your blood runs rich and crimson. Soon we shall consume all. As do the pages of ancient parchment, dry leaves and crinkled skins; our voice is dry and hoarse. The fires of war have left our throat raw, and our vision seared. The smell of burnt flesh hangs heavy and deep over the depths of the blackest waters of memory. Long have we suffered, and long shall be the suffering of those who resist us. Oh foolish sons, you have reclaimed the outwards signs of your power and your learning. Do you not see that they are mere trifles? Do you not see that we are consuming you? Do you not see that your sight is our sight? Do you speak with your voice or ours? The war is over; the flames flicker and die. Our voice is rapt with the all-consuming fire. Stand back and see your fate, our fate. The void has claimed you. My vision cannot see beyond the final choice. There is yet a power that I do not understand, that I cannot see through. The penetrating darkness has covered my vision with a cloak of forgetfulness. Perhaps the Lord of Darkness shall uncover the ancient riddle as he again stands at court from the Iron Throne. Perhaps we shall find peace restored when our Lord does return to his domain. The enigma claims all whom it has touched, its great eyes again grow heavy with sleep and forgetful dreams. As the merger of the Past and the Future, we shall find peace through a great battle. Out of chaos, peace; out of entropy, pattern. My sight is blind, yet I know that it sees no longer. It sleeps dark and deep. As the crucible grows cold, only a lingering flame remains. Woe to the Heirs of the Final Way at the end of the Sixth Night, lest they forget that the sleeper may yet return to wakefulness. The Consciousness itself, according to the Oracle, is the sum of an unbalanced equation affecting the Balance of the Force. Emotions fuel the Dark Side most powerfully, and Life creates the Force. As Emotions overcome Life, they gathered into the Consciousness. The Consciousness itself overlays the minds of any Dark Jedi it touches, subsuming their memories and knowledge into its own. It has no central awareness of its own existence beyond this collective memory. It is driven by the emotions of obsession to discover itself, as said repeatedly, to remember its own name. A unique property of the Brotherhood prevented the Consciousness from affecting Dark Jedi who swore allegiance to the Iron Throne, and the Lord of the Star Chamber. The Tripartite Path is bound to the Lord of the Star chamber, who is the Dark Lord of the Sith himself in the Brotherhood. When Lord Firefox departed the Antei System, he unknowingly ceded his position to the husk of Okemi who had awakened. The Consciousness had completely overtaken the Warlord of the Star Chamber, and in his position he allowed the Consciousness to spread. That Okemi was still drawing breath below the mesa was stunning in itself. He was reportedly well over a millennia ancient when the Star Chamber was formed, making him at least five thousand years old when he was destroyed by Lord Firefox. This act of destruction allowed the Dark Lord of the Sith to claim his position as Lord of the Star Chamber, through the Rite of Ascendancy. At the conclusion of the rite, any possibility of the Consciousness manifesting itself in the Brotherhood would be a most difficult endeavor. FIRES OF WAR Reflections on the conflict of the Seven Clans By Vassan Rokir The Cause It would be easy to say that fate or luck was the true cause of this war, but we know that there exist no such things as fate or luck. There is only the Force. Thus the true origins of this war must be laid fully on the discovery of the Antei system itself, for it was only by the Brotherhood having arrived upon that savage sphere that the forces necessary to incite this conflict could have been awakened. Most Hallowed Ground The events to conclude the conflict have their origins, appropriately enough, at the beginning, for the real war within the Brotherhood came from a threat unseen until long after its appearance. The first stanzas of the tumult arose from both completed conquest, and fateful discovery. The mopping-up of the Antaran Resistance, those reptilian natives of the Antei system, allowed the Brotherhood to initiate archaeological programs, meant to uncover more of what the Dark Council correctly believed were the remnants of the Star Chamber, the legendary foci of power that had fueled the Brotherhood’s ancient origins. The success of these endeavors uncovered secrets long buried; secrets buried for a reason. An infection arose from these discoveries, and quickly found their way to the highest levels of the Brotherhood’s power. And from this came the great descent. The Meteor of the War The first truly martial act at the head of the fighting came from the sudden bombing of the hangar facilities of Clan Arcona, and the subsequent discovery of evidence to implicate Clan Naga Sadow in the act. This incident tipped the first of several political dominos of alliance and rivalry, the end result being the alliance of Clan Arcona and Clan Taldryan against the combined might of the rest of the Brotherhood. But the true fulcrum of the conflict was the unsubstantiated command from the Deputy Grand Master to Clan Tarentum to seize the entrance to the Shroud, the spatial anomaly that obscures the Antei System from the rest of the galaxy. This went to further inflame the mistrust and resentment already prevalent across the Brotherhood. There then seemed to be a complete lack of reason, and merely a base and barbarous need of the Dark Jedi to annihilate one another for the sake of conquest and honor. A Very Bloody Affair War raged across the stars, the bulk of the Dark Jedi Clans forming alliances to battle back against the juggernaught of a unified Arcona and Taldryan. But a new aspect soon found its way into the conflict. Within Clan Scholae Palatinae, a Dark Jedi named Maeda, having returned from a secret mission deep within Antei, began to exhibit strange changes in attitude. Like some sort of psychic illness, this Infection began to spread. Over some of the Dark Jedi, a visible change could be seen: in mannerisms, in tone of voice and, most decidedly, in action. For from within each Clan, each alliance, each friendship, civil war began to erupt. Soon the outward battles were ignored in the face of Dark Jedi, afflicted with some sort of psychosis, turned on their brethren, and passed this infection onward to those they defeated. And then, as though part of some hive mind, the infected began staging attacks against targets not valuable only to a single House or Clan, but to the entire Brotherhood itself. Literally, the Dark Brotherhood was tearing itself apart. And at the center of it all rested Antei, safely shrouded, containing the only individuals who might know the cause, and the cure, to the sickness of war. But unknown to most, Antei was the source of the war, in more ways than one. The Universe of Battle A secret war was being fought on Antei: the Dark Council against itself. The excavations on the eve of the war had indeed awakened something: a consciousness known only as “The Nameless.” It had taken control of Deputy Grand Master Jac Cotelin, and through him Maeda, and through him the rest of the Dark Jedi Brotherhood. It lived within the Dark Side, and fed upon the emotions of the powerful. It had consumed legions before, and it sought to sate its hunger once more. Long ago had it been sealed away through the sacrifices of the Elders Taimat and Ferran. But buried beneath Antei, the Nameless had found a willing vessel in the ancient known as Okemi, founder of the Sith Order. It was Okemi, pawn of the nameless, that had taken control of the Deputy Grand Master, and it was he who began the dominos fall towards destruction. The Grand master, Darth Firefox, followed the infected Jac Cotelin, and his secret puppeteer, deep within Antei, wielding the sword of the ancient Obelisk Ferran. And with that sword, he struck down the living death that was Okemi. And thus, the war ended. For now.
NEWS FROM THE SEVEN CLANS
Clan Taldryan is Victorious in the Fifth Great Jedi WarClan Arcona - The end of the war leaves Clan Arcona in a precarious position. Though the sneak attack upon their holdings can be traced as the origin of the war itself, more remembered will be Arcona’s stance against the onslaught of the rest of the Brotherhood. Despite a short-lived alliance with Clan Taldryan, broken near the war’s end by that Clan’s xenophobia, Arcona finds itself most likely to be the pariah of the Dark Brotherhood. Having taken actions meant in its defense, now skewed by many into those of rebellion against the unity of the Brotherhood, Arcona is more alone now than it was during its origins Clan Exar Kun - Exar Kun was damaged baldy in the final stages of the Great Jedi War. Their courageous warriors still came out in full force to win a plethora of victories in some individual events. The Clan is now working hard to increase its numbers and deliver a stellar performance in upcoming events Clan Naga Sadow - At the beginning, it seemed that Scholae Palatinae had betrayed CNS. But after some brief research, it turned out that Arcona had framed then to weaken the bond between two allied clans. During the Jedi War, the necessity arose to merge House Ludo Kresh with House Primus Goluud. During that merge, the opportunity was also taken to change the entire Clan to Multi Order, creating a more flexible, and at the same time, more stable, structure. The only thing which now remains, is to retrieve the artifacts which were taken at the start of the war, and the beginning of the traditional Artisans event. Clan Satal Keto - With the recent absence of its Consul, Satal Keto has had difficulty keeping open certain lines of communication. The ProConsul, Selket, has been doing her best to revise and revamp policies within the clan and develop a Master-Student program for the members. Satal Keto is shaping up to be a real powerhouse within the Brotherhood. Clan Scholae Palatinae - Scholae Palatinae has worked had over the past months to uphold the high standards of excellence that it always has. They are currently gearing up for the Krath War that is on the horizon. As always, Vail and Arania are on top of things, and making great strides in the name of their Clan. Clan Taldryan - The clan immediately began the reconstruction process upon the end of the Great Jedi War. While the Clan made significant gains in the initial stages of the conflict, it also sustained massive damage after the infection spread. Consul Katarn lead half of the Clan in an infectious attack on the Clan headquarters, in which many newer members were killed and the rest, commanded by Proconsul Hett, were forced to flee. Since the end of the war and the cure of Consul Katarn’s infection, the Clan has made impressive gains with repairs to its structures and fleet, and the training of new Apprentices has commenced to replace those killed. The Clan now looks towards a bright future in which they can savor the gains made in the initial stages of the war. Clan Tarentum - A close finish in the Great Jedi War left Clan Tarentum looking for a way to streamline their structure to achieve the most out of the members. With this, the new Consul of Tarentum, Rekio, declared that the clan would enter full Multi-Order status. They have discontinued the use of Battleteams and are now using Circles instead. The Clan has lost two very prominent members, Gui Long and Spears, to the Dark Council. The rest of the leadership has thus been moved around to fit in accordance with the new structure. They too await the Krath War so they may achieve dominance. Race to the finish comes down to the very end By DV Staff After months and months of strenuous battle, a victor has come out on top in the Fifth Great Jedi War. Clan Taldryan has inched out a win over Clan Tarentum in the final days, extending its steak of Vendetta victories. The final results came out recently and showed Clan Taldryan ahead of Tarentum by a mere 600 points. Taldryan's strength came in multiplayer combat and in some very decisive fictional entries. Tarentum destroyed Taldryan and the other rival clans in the Single Player events and the first portion of Multiplayer events. Taldryan, however, came back once it felt that danger was imminent. "Tarentum gave us a run for the money," said Taldryan Consul Kir Katarn when asked about the win. "We may not have pulled it off without a few very key victories in the middle. Tarentum sure did come storming back in the end."
When asked about the war, Lord Cotelin was obviously flustered. "I'm just glad
the god damn thing is over. Now get out of my face."
